Hello all! Our website has relaunched but is still a ways off from being finished. In the next 24 hours we will have tons more pics from the recording sessions of our upcoming third album, to be released this summer, added to the gallery; there will also be a “listen” tab and a “videos” tab added. Expect regular blogging to commence as of now, and with that I’d like to let you in on all the happenings in Greeningworld. First off, Will only has three songs left to complete rough mixes of: ”Into The Fugue,” which he’s currently working on, “The Brightness of the Sun” and “Sunflower.” Once those three are completed in their rough form, each of the 12 songs will get a final coat of paint and will then be sent my way so a running order can be chosen. Once I complete the sequence of the album, Will’s going to give the thing a name and we’ll be immediately working on getting it mastered while the cover art gets created. We’re very excited to share our first-ever album as a five piece with you all; working at Hyde Street Studios, Studio D, was an incredible experience, and the fun we had throughout the sessions (March through September last year) shines through on the tracks! We’re also confirmed to play the 2nd annual Davis Music Festival, on June 23rd. Hello all! Welcome to the relaunch of www.thegreening.com. Since the last time I blogged, we’ve completed recording sessions for our as-yet-untitled third album at Hyde Street Studios. Will is currently mixing the album, due out in spring of next year, and we’ve got a couple shows coming up. We play SF State’s music festival Bad Acoustics 3 at McKenna Hall Tuesday, December 6th and our first-ever Friday show at old stomping grounds Grant & Green Saloon Friday, December 9th. We’re very much looking forward to those shows and to the premiere of two new videos in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned for more . . .

Hello all. Been eons since I last updated, so many things to share! First off, we rocked Zachary’s birthday show at Grant & Green and had some of the most fun we’ve had yet. It was a magical evening shared with fans, friends and family, and featured the debut of two brand new songs in the set. One week later we played with old friends The 21st Century (BEVAN!) at The Ivy Room in Albany. The room was one of the more unique we’ve played, feeling a bit like playing in someone’s living room in the 1970s.

Danny’s video for “Don’t Have The Time” is now 50% complete! Being a one man animation team all by his lonesome likely insures it’ll be late October when the video is unveiled on this page and www.thegreening.com, but it looks FANTASTIC so far, he’s really outdone himself this time!

Will’s directorial debut, “Introduction To The Greening By Daniel Vaccerelli” is FINISHED and will be unveiled at the new-new (as opposed to old-new) www.thegreening.com once it’s unveiled in the next two weeks!

Lastly, we’re hard at work on album three! Will and I have already completed most of the overdubs for the demos of “Maryann,” “Leningrad, Slips and Knots,” “Dualk” and “10,000″ and we hope to finish all overdubs on 20 demos for the upcoming album by late next month. After that’s completed, Taich will right more finalized, studio drum parts for these songs upon hearing the layers he never gets to hear live. Once we’ve laid THOSE drums down, then we’ll make two mixes of all 20 songs: one regular mix, one with the rhythm section extremely up front, and get all 40 mixes to Zachary’s brother Adam, who shall be learning my bass parts verbatim to be guest studio bassist on album three! We hope to have all five us in Hyde Street Studios laying down the drums, bass and guitar tracks for this record by early February. More news soon!

Hello everyone! We’re gonna be playing a free show this coming Thursday night at Grant & Green, and it just so happens to fall on Zachary’s birthday! We’re playing four, count ‘em, FOUR new songs and it’s gonna be a blast.

In the meantime, we’ve been behind the scenes working like mad on finishing up the video entitled “An Introduction To The Greening,” brainstorming the final scenes for the “Thunderstruck/Thunder’s Truck” video, as well as starting to lay the blueprints for our upcoming cover of Beck’s long-out-of-print debut album Golden Feelings! That’s right, The Greening is covering Beck’s Golden Feelings in its entirety, a la Beck’s record club. Gonna rock. That album is very adventurous, fun and open to interpretation and we’re looking forward to having some of our friends guest on some of the tracks.

Show in the Mission this Friday

Hello everyone! Wanted to let our SF fans know we’ll be returning to the live stage, playing this Friday, August 6th at Sub-Mission Art Space. Sub-Mission is located on Mission between 17th and 18th and we go on around 9:30. Old friend Rich’s new band The SF Survivors is going to headline; Pegasus opens. Did I mention the cover is only $5? How about that it’s AN ALL AGES SHOW?!?! Good times. We’ve been rehearsing the hell out of a lot of new material, and will be doing “Kicking And Screaming” and Will’s (typically untitled) new one for the second time ever. Come rock!

Other than that, much work continues behind the scenes on “Thunderstruck/Thunder’s Truck,” and Danny’s finishing up some animation for “An Introduction To The Greening” as well as making tons of progress on the “Don’t Have The Time” vid. More news to come . . .

Back in Effect

Hello all! We’ve all returned from our respective vacations and have already been hard at work, rehearsing for an upcoming early all ages August gig at Submission and all around shaking-off-the-rust and such. In order to dust ourselves off from our July R&R, we’ve recently blazed through

and of course Will’s two untitled newest songs, as well. So far the first two rehearsals have been as a trio, but Zachary returns to the fold come Monday.

Will and I captured a bunch more footage for the upcoming “Thunderstruck/Thunder’s Struck” video after Friday’s rehearsal as well, and Danny’s “Don’t Have The Time” is currently approaching a minute of finished animation. Another minute and fifteen seconds to go; we hope to debut it for you all here in late September!

In the meantime, preparation for album three continues. Hope everyone’s enjoying the summer! More news soon . . .

Whilst on Vacation

I’ve been working on a new song. What the title will be certainly at this point remains to be a mystery, of course, but it’s been nice to be working on it this past week. Will’s in Missouri with family and Taich is about to head out for a week upon his return. Zachary was just in town with his brother (and bassist in my other band) Adam Pallin to attend Allison Danbom’s farewell party. It was a blast! Upon Will’s return we’ll return to filming footage for the final scenes of the “Thunderstruck” cover vid (you’ll see!). More news to come!

Latest Update

Hello everyone. Since our last update, Nick has laid down all the drums for the cover of “Thunderstruck” and we’ve also done some tempo tracks for the demo of “A Victory?” Will is currently visiting some family in Missouri and upon his return Taich will be heading out for a bit of vacation of his own. In the meantime, Danny nears ever-closer to the finish of the video for “Don’t Have The Time,” but, ever the perfectionist, we project an early fall unveiling of said video. The first 30 seconds look absolutely amazing, can’t wait for you to see his latest work! Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend, I certainly did, traveling to the edge of my mind and back. Zounds, gadzooks, and egads.
